It's hard to remember a time in my life when I didn't have a camera in my hand.
At the age of nine my dad bravely handed me his Hasselblad camera for a 4-H photography project about the flora and fauna of central Ohio. At fourteen, he took me to see a talk by the world renowned photographer, Richard Avedon. As a 17 year old, I was taking pictures for the school newspaper and yearbook. When I began college at Denison University, I had no intention of majoring in art, but I again found myself drawn to take pictures and graduated with a bachelors degree in photography.
Whether I'm photographing dogs in need of homes at local shelters or high school seniors ready to embark on their next journey, my goal is to capture technically sound and artistically striking images that preserve moments and memories for years to come.
